Sir,

I HAVE received your despatch No. 121 of the 8th instant, in which you inform me of the willingness of the Netherlands Government to come to an arrangement with His Majesty's Government for the mutual protection of British and Dutch trade-marks in China.

I request that you will inform the Netherlands Government that instructions have been sent to His Majesty's Minister at Peking in order that effect may be given to the arrangement come to between the two Governments.
